Judge Frank Caprio, who recently beat cancer, was asked:
“If you could live one day over and over again, what day would it be?”
He answered:
“In High School I was a wrestler and won the State Championship. My dad was at the side of the mat cheering me on. I could relive that moment over and over!”

That’s one of the many things we do at COIN — we cheer coaches on as they impact lives and live out their faith.

Retired Coaches Luncheon – A Legacy of Faithful Service
We recently gathered over 100 retired coaches, including COIN Board Member Coni Grosse (El Dorado HS) and her husband Jeff (El Toro HS). Coach Wayne Carlson, former El Dorado basketball coach, and longtime COIN supporter, was also present.
- Over 3000 years of coaching experience were represented in the room!
Coach Scott Glabb (Santa Ana wrestling) shared powerful testimonies of how God worked during his years in the trenches.
COIN & Veterans – Sharing the Gospel
As an Army Veteran, I’ve had the honor of speaking at four Veterans events in recent weeks — each a chance to share the Gospel and the mission of COIN. I also reconnected with my friend, Congressman Lou Correa.
COIN Expands in Arizona!
We’re excited to be connecting with:
- Coach Tim Montez – Ottawa University
- Coach Jimmy Gutierrez – Nelson University (not named after me 😉)
They’re both exploring launching COIN fellowships at their schools. PTL!
COIN leaders Tim Sweeney and Dave Rowe, now based in Arizona, are following up to support these efforts.
