This summer COIN is focused on seeking Christ, specifically how to be more intentional in carrying out the mission we have been given to reach, encourage, and strengthen coaches to impact their areas of influence. Here’s what we’re doing:
Ministry Highlights
Strengthening Our Foundation
Our Administrative Assistant Susan Jahns and Board President Steve Quatro are working to better organize the ministry, ensuring we can serve coaches more effectively.
Building Community Partnerships
We’re reaching out to city leaders—Tara Campbell, current Mayor of Yorba Linda, and Ward Smith, former Mayor of Yorba Linda—to bring awareness of the needs of COIN and AOC (Ambassadors of Compassion) and the opportunities they provide.
Developing Campus Leaders
We continue to meet with the Coaches Fellowship Groups to develop strong leaders who will reach the other coaches on their campuses. Here is the Santa Ana Fellowship Group. We will meet with many others during July and August.
Expanding Our Reach Globally
We are reaching beyond our borders with Damion Lane, part of our Placentia Fellowship Group. He recently went to Malawi, Africa to set up dialysis machines he had repaired and donated to the Passion Center for Children. Equipping at Hope University
At Hope University, we welcome and encourage all who come through the door—coaches, trainers, recruits, parents, and volunteers. We are starting training sessions on how to share your faith, teaching how to use tools to share the gospel and how to transition from conversation to sharing the gospel.
We are going beyond how people feel to what Martin Lloyd Jones said: “An essential part of the gospel is that conviction must always precede conversion; the gospel of Christ condemns before it releases.”
