CHRISTMAS is the day that holds all time together!  – A. Smith

We celebrate this truth. God so loved the world that He sent His one and only Son, that WHOEVER believes in Him, will NOT perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16)  There is NO GREATER gift to receive. THANK YOU for praying and supporting our efforts to bring the LIGHT and LOVE of Christ to coaches.  All levels and sports.

Would you consider an end of your DONATION to Coaches of Influence?

The COVID shutdown has caused a variety of frustrations, uncertainty, and anxiety that coach’s struggle with daily.

  • When and if there will be a sports season.
  • How to keep their athletes and asst. coaches from going out of state where other teams play.
  • Keeping their athletes motivated with online learning; many not passing classes.
  • Having administrations declare a start date, then cancel.
  • Not have the time to fully prepare if they do start and many more issues.

The COIN ministry does make a difference.  Coach Gene Engle and supporter Jim Murray share their COIN experience

I’ve been the leader of the South Bay COIN Fellowship for 9 years.  We average between 8-14 coaches every other week and the fellowship is a close one as many of them compete against each other, yet come together in Bible study and prayer with real love and concern for each other. One coach came to know Christ by watching how the men handled difficult personal and professional problems.  Proverbs 27:17, ‘as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens the other’, is played out constantly in our fellowship. Nelson has played and continues to play a vital role in supporting and encouraging our group’s spiritual growth.  We are grateful for COIN in our lives and through us, the lives of hundreds of young men.Gene Engle

Nancy and I support COIN for many reasons.  Nelson exemplifies how a genuine, authentic Christ-follower glorifies God in everything he does.  We strongly believe high school coaches reach more children for Christ in one school year than we have in our lifetime.  To this day, I thank God for my opportunity to play baseball and basketball, and for the discipline and teamwork my coach taught me!  With the secularism and non-Christian subjects being taught to all of our kids K through 12 today, the COIN ministry may be the only opportunity these kids have to hear and see the Good News in action.  Nancy and I are blessed to be able to support COIN.  Thanks to all of you coaches who support COIN.  We love you and pray for you.Jim and Nancy Murray

2020 COIN GOLF CHALLENGE RECAP

November 17th we held our 2020 Golf Challenge as our April Tournament was cancelled by COVID.  120 golfers came to Alta Vista CC and competed in one of 3 flights.  The Champions, Athletes, and Keep the Faith flights.   A great day and time was had by all. Highlights were coaches Tim Tucker from Pasadena and Gene Engle from Torrance sharing about the influence of coaches.  Tim (on far right) is an example of the II Timothy 2:2 principle as he was coached by his mentor George Terzian and now is reaching other coaches by leading the Pasadena COIN Fellowship. If you haven’t seen it yet, here is a link to TIM TUCKERS TESTIMONY at the golf tournament.

$18,000+ funds raised for the ministry to cover 2020 expenses and will go towards 2021 ministry opportunities, staff payroll, books, international trips, and sustaining and expanding our CF Groups!

Our constant ZOOM calls provide visible, verbal, and spiritual support.  If we can’t meet in person, it’s the next best thing.   We remind one another that:

Regardless of what goes on around us — THANKS BE TO GOD who gives us the victory in Jesus Christ our Lord!  I Cor. 15:57

May these thoughts assist you and yours toward having a Merry Christmas.

Onward and Upward in Christ,
Nelson Cook & the Coaches of Influence Staff
